Load carrier management at Daimler Truck AG

In order to sustainably supply production with optimization of the CO2 footprint, we, Daimler Truck AG, use reusable packaging, so-called pool or special load carriers, in the supply by our partners. In order to take advantage of other advantages such as cost efficiency and flexibility, we control the load carriers via a central load carrier network.

Operational management and communication is carried out via the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application, the load carrier management system for pool and special load carriers owned by Daimler Truck AG. Our goal is to achieve the advantages of efficient processes, optimal data quality and reduction of load carrier and logistics costs for you as a partner and for us through transparency, regular control and prompt and direct communication.

Please note: Aftersales processing will be carried out by Mercedes-Benz AG and its load carrier management system until the completion of Customer Spare Parts Halberstadt until further notice.

Daimler Truck CARRY - FAQ - Useful Information

  • What is Daimler Truck CARRY?

    "Daimler Truck CARRY" is the new load carrier management system for Daimler Truck AG, going live on December 2, 2024, and will replace the current eCon system for managing load carriers. The application serves as a shared communication platform between Daimler Truck AG and its suppliers for all matters related to load carriers.

    Suppliers are obligated, under the Daimler Truck Special Terms, to register in this application and carry out the necessary tasks. These include, among others:

    • Reviewing and complying with packaging plans,
    • Monitoring load carrier accounts (i.e., returnable packaging accounts),
    • Reporting discrepancies to the respective Daimler Truck plants (location partners),
    • Reviewing rental invoices,
    • Submitting year-end load carrier inventories.

    Key information can be found in the "Supplier Load-Carrier Guideline Load Carrier Management Europe."

    The "Daimler Truck CARRY" application is currently still under development — features such as rental, inventory, inactive load carriers, and individual apps will be implemented gradually.

  • Which load carriers are used in "Daimler Truck CARRY"?

    In "Daimler Truck CARRY", the load carriers of Daimler Truck AG are accounted for and the packing plan is defined. The supplier delivers its parts to Daimler Truck AG in accordance with the packaging plan specifications.  Daimler Truck Pool load carriers (GLT) are essentially 6-digit and start with T520, e.g. LT type T5 202032 (in contrast to the LT type T5 2032, which is the property of Mercedes-Benz AG and not permitted for use by Daimler Truck AG). Pool load carriers (KLT) are VDA load carriers and continue to have 4 digits (e.g. T53215).  Dial-up and delivery notes correspond to the physical delivery and the packing plan. Deviations or incorrect postings will result in additional expenses for Daimler Truck AG, the expenses of which we reserve the right to charge. In addition, incorrect entries lead to incorrect loan goods accounts = LT accounts and thus to the incorrect supply of empties. The supplier is responsible for the continuous examination and complaint of the LT accounts.

  • How can I log in to the "Daimler TruckCARRY" application?

    After logging in with the supplier number in the "DaimlerTruck Supplier Portal", each user registers with the respective required role (multiple selection possible) in "Daimler Truck CARRY" via the "Applications" function. For the roles with their respective content and functions, see FAQ. Due to the separation of the Mercedes-Benz AG & Daimler Truck AG system world, it is currently also necessary to reset your password once on the Daimler Truck CARRY app when logging in. This is done via the small gray "i" on the app. This will take you to the Business ID login – to reset your password (see step-by-step instructions). Existing users in eCon before Go Live on 12/2/24 have been migrated with their roles.

  • Which function and tasks are involved in which role in "Daimler Truck CARRY"?

    The role defines which apps in "Daimler TruckCARRY" are available to the respective user:

  • Will I be trained, where can I find training content?

    "Daimler Truck CARRY" is based on a standardized SAP software FIORI with a user-friendly interface. This is easy to use. On the home page, there are "switch fields" with up-to-date information and support for the applications. In-app help provides documents and supplementary information about the application and content. This can be achieved by selecting the question mark (?) at the top right; this selection is possible in any app page. New colleagues want to get to know the contents of load carrier management or users want to challenge themselves? This is done through playful learning with the game - CARRY CHAMP within "Daimler Truck CARRY".

  • How do I contact my contact persons on load carrier topics at Daimler Truck AG?

    Communication between Daimler Truck AG and its suppliers takes place via the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application via the "Manage Packaging Issues" function. In this ticket-based function, you can reach the relevant contact persons. The ticket system offers the advantage of transparency and holistic documentation of a process as well as simplified and integrated forwarding to the necessary contact persons.

    For general inquiries, such as questions about the apps, tasks, contact persons, the following options apply: "Manage Packaging Issues", "Request", subcategory "General request".
    For empties supply, the selection applies: "Manage Packaging Issues", "Request", subcategory "Empties Supply" with details of the location partner (recipient plant).
    Complaints about incorrect or missing load carrier bookings can be made via the "Review Posting Documents" app, which can be tracked via "Manage Packaging Issues" by entering the delivery note.
    Until onboarding of the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application, the support of the Supplier Portal or the mbox dtag-lt-lieferantenbetreuung@daimlertruck.comis available.

     

  • Where can I find detailed and useful information for load carrier management?

    The contract is based on the Daimler Truck Special Terms, which is supplemented by the "Supplier Load Carrier Guideline Load Carrier Management Europe". It contains all the essential information about participating plants, load carriers, packing plan, accounts, system, etc.; This is a useful document that provides the basis for waste-free and efficient collaboration.

  • Will I receive additional information outside of "Daimler Truck CARRY"?

     

    The common communication platform is the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application via the apps "Manage Packaging Issues" and "Review Documents".
    The display of the packaging plan is located within "Daimler Truck CARRY"; the packaging plan is coordinated outside of "Daimler Truck CARRY" by e-mail with the Daimler Truck AG contact person specified in the packaging data sheet.

    In the business partner app, supplier users of the ADMIN or ACCOUNT role enter the contact persons by e-mail for the functions "Account statements", "Packaging Issues" or "Inventory counting", who thus receive account statements, status of the rental goods tickets and request for inventory by e-mail.

     

  • I want to change or delete a role in “Daimler Truck CARRY”, what do I have to do?

    The role defines which apps are displayed in "Daimler TruckCARRY" (see question about role with functions and tasks). To delete a role, please contact your portal manager, who has the option to delete your role in ALICE (Alice Access). A role change then takes place via the new application by the portal manager or you as the user.   • My email address has changed, where can I update it?

    The user changes the e-mail address and personal data under "Edit my profile" in the Daimler Truck Supplier Portal. Within the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application in the “Managem Business Partner” app, the supplier's users with the role ADMIN or ACCOUNT update the data, contact persons, and e-mail addresses. The Daimler Truck Supplier Portal and the "Daimler Truck CARRY" business partner app are not related to each other in terms of content.
