Load carrier management at Daimler Truck AG

In order to sustainably supply production with optimization of the CO2 footprint, we, Daimler Truck AG, use reusable packaging, so-called pool or special load carriers, in the supply by our partners. In order to take advantage of other advantages such as cost efficiency and flexibility, we control the load carriers via a central load carrier network.

Operational management and communication is carried out via the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application, the load carrier management system for pool and special load carriers owned by Daimler Truck AG. Our goal is to achieve the advantages of efficient processes, optimal data quality and reduction of load carrier and logistics costs for you as a partner and for us through transparency, regular control and prompt and direct communication.

Daimler Truck CARRY - FAQ - Useful Information

  • What is Daimler Truck CARRY?

    Daimler Truck CARRY” has been the central system for load carrier management at Daimler Truck AG since December 2, 2024. It manages the Daimler Truck AG-owned load carriers that are provided to you as a supplier for parts delivery against a usage fee. The application serves as a communication platform for all matters related to load carriers between our partners and you as a supplier. As a supplier to Daimler Truck AG, you are required to register in “Daimler Truck CARRY.

  • Key Contents and responsibilities for me as supplier in “Daimler Truck CARRY

    1) Maintain contact details, update your contact person information in the “Manage Business Partner” app – initially and whenever changes occur. This ensures that key process information (e.g., inventory counting, account statements, returnable packaging tickets) can be sent directly to the correct contacts via email.

    2) Access the “Packaging Plan” app for the latest packaging data sheets defined by Daimler Truck AG. Regular proactive review by the supplier is required. Changes will be communicated via email. New or actualised packaging data sheets are considered accepted if no objection is raised within one week by the supplier

    3) Create tickets in “Manage  Packaging Issues” Use this app for inquiries (not bookings) on topics such as:

    • General questions about the system, processes, or contacts (without specifying a location partner)
    • Questions regarding booking discrepancies, empty packaging supply, rental, etc. (with location partner details = receiving plant)
       

    4) Create ticket in “Review Posting Documents” for complaints regarding load carrier booking discrepancies or missing postings in the LC supply process at goods receipt in Daimler Truck AG or goods dispatch from Daimler Truck AG. Basis: your delivery notes for correct LT account management. (Maximum complaint period: 6 weeks from posting date)

    5) Regular LC account monitoring - check account movements in the “Account Overview” app to ensure transparency and correct load carrier supply. Incorrect accounts = incorrect Load-Carrier supply. Also relevant for rental payments and inventory loss tracking.

    6) Usage fee transparency. View quarterly rental invoices, rental prices, and rental reports in the apps “Rental Invoice, Rental Prices, Rental Reports.”

    7) Inventory accounting perform annual inventory counting of load carriers at the designated cut-off date using the “Perform Inventory Counting” app.

    8) SLC Demand Planning use the “SLC Demand Plan” app as needed for SLT procurement or adjustments to circulation factors due to changes in the logistics chain or site relocations.

  • How do I log in to the “Daimler Truck CARRY” application?

    After logging in with your supplier number in the “Daimler Truck Supplier Portal,” access “Daimler Truck CARRY” by selecting “Applications” and choosing the required processing role for each user (multiple selections possible).
    Important: The selected role determines the view of the applications you will work with in “Daimler Truck CARRY.” For any questions, please contact the Daimler Truck Supplier Portal support team.

    Note: This role for login is not connected to the mandatory maintenance of contact details in the “Manage Business Partner” app. Maintaining these contacts ensures that the respective contact person receives task-related information by email for the assigned processes.

  • Will I be trained, where can I find training content?

    "Daimler Truck CARRY" is based on a standardized SAP software FIORI with a user-friendly interface. This is easy to use. On the home page, there are "switch fields" with up-to-date information and support for the applications. In-app help provides documents and supplementary information about the application and content. This can be achieved by selecting the question mark (?) at the top right; this selection is possible in any app page. New colleagues want to get to know the contents of load carrier management or users want to challenge themselves? This is done through playful learning with the game - CARRY CHAMP within "Daimler Truck CARRY".

  • How do I contact my contact persons on load carrier topics at Daimler Truck AG?

    Communication between Daimler Truck AG and its suppliers takes place via the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application via the "Manage Packaging Issues" function. In this ticket-based function, you can reach the relevant contact persons. The ticket system offers the advantage of transparency and holistic documentation of a process as well as simplified and integrated forwarding to the necessary contact persons.

    For general inquiries, such as questions about the apps, tasks, contact persons, the following options apply: "Manage Packaging Issues", "Request", subcategory "General request".
    For empties supply, the selection applies: "Manage Packaging Issues", "Request", subcategory "Empties Supply" with details of the location partner (recipient plant).
    Complaints about incorrect or missing load carrier bookings can be made via the "Review Posting Documents" app, which can be tracked via "Manage Packaging Issues" by entering the delivery note.

    Until onboarding of the "Daimler Truck CARRY" application, the support of the Supplier Portal or the mbox dtag-lt-lieferantenbetreuung@daimlertruck.comis available.

    The contractual basis is the “Daimler Truck Special Terms” as well as the “Supplier Load-Carrier Guideline Load Carrier Management Europe.” Both documents can be found at the end of the FAQs.

    The “Supplier Load-Carrier Guideline Load Carrier Management Europe” contains all essential information on load carrier processes, the system, your roles and responsibilities as a supplier, as well as other useful content that must be observed. With the expansion of the “Daimler Truck CARRY” system, additional content—such as inventory—will be added by the end of 2025 (English version is in progress).
