Entering into dialogue together and shaping the future of transportation: this describes the motto “empowering tomorrow – together today”, under which our top 200 suppliers were invited to this year’s Supplier Summit on July 17th to Wörth am Rhein. There we provided exciting insights into our corporate strategy and technology topics of the future.

In five workshops and a panel talk, our guests could join dialogues with our Daimler Truck colleagues, including topics such as autonomous driving, sustainability in the supply chain or macroeconomic developments. In addition, we gave our suppliers the chance to experience the latest products and innovations from Daimler Truck up close as part of driving experiences and product exhibitions. With the Supplier Summit we intend to strengthen our partnerships by exchanging ideas, encouraging networking, inspiring for the future and honoring excellent work.
The Daimler Truck Supplier Award for the best
In the end of the day we continued our tradition to honor extraordinary performances of our suppliers with the Daimler Truck Supplier Award. This year seven suppliers received the trophy, two of which were awarded for outstanding commitment to sustainability:
Italian supplier Brembo N. V. has been a reliable partner for brake disk technologies since 2003. He received the award for comprehensive and innovative resource savings in brake disks for Daimler Truck vehicles, which give our Actros in particular a competitive advantage.
The Japanese DENSO CORPORATION has convinced Daimler Truck for more than 40 years with its longstanding collaboration and reliable delivery of fuel injection systems, sensors and safety control mechatronics. They received the Supplier Award for their extraordinary supply reliability and excellent supply chain management which has enabled them to counter various challenges - from natural disasters to parts availability difficulties.
The Brazilian partner Randoncorp received the award for its excellent know-how in the development of axles, axle suspensions and electrification technologies. With its 24-year partnership with Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, the enterprise is one of the most important suppliers in Brazil.
Westfalen AG was awarded for its in-depth expertise in filling stations with gaseous hydrogen. Daimler Truck relies on the enterprise to supply its fuel cell test benches with hydrogen. The supplier demonstrated very high flexibility and fast response times.
Volz E.K.T. GmbH received the award for its solution orientation combined with flexibility within the framework of maintenance processes. As a result, the supplier was able to make a significant contribution to ensuring production processes.
Category Sustainability
Apollo Tires Ltd. received the Daimler Truck Supplier Award in the Sustainability category for its commitment to biodiversity and CO2 neutrality at the site in India. The commitment ranges from afforestation projects to increasing the share of renewable energies. In addition, the enterprise operates beyond the boundaries of its business activities with important health initiatives for the truck driver community and the empowerment of disadvantaged women.
CORPAC Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG
CORPAC Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG received the Daimler Truck Supplier Award in the Sustainability category for its innovations in the area of anti-corrosion protective films for the transportation of our component parts. By reducing the thickness of the protective films by more than a third, the CO2 footprint of Daimler Truck AG was further reduced.
